KOUVARAKIS PANTELIS & CO. G.P.
Ioannis Kouvarakis’ business delved into the production of cheese products in 1977 when the first shop opened its doors in the town center of Sitia. In 2004, the company was taken over by his three sons, Pantelis, Konstantinos, and Georgios, and its name was changed to P. Kouvarakis & Co. G.P. The milk used to make the products comes from the prefecture of Lassithi, mainly from Zakros, and they produce unique traditional Cretan products such as Xygalo Siteias and stakovoutyro (butter oil).
