Lesvos island with the volcanic subsoil, the mild climate and the countless pastures has a long tradition in cheese producing thanks to the very special sheep milk available at the island.

Lesvos dairy at the modern and fully equipped dairy produces exceptional dairy products which include all those special characteristics of the island, the unique aromas of the Lesvos nature and the Aegean sea.

Ladotyri in olive oil is definitely a thing to be proud of as it is produced only by Lesvos dairy who revived the old tradition saying that the cheese matured in olive oil.

A hard cheese of yellowish skin and a few wholes in its surface. It has a mild sweet and rich flavor. It is Διακρίνεται από μια ελαφριά υπόγλυκη γεύση. It is produced almost 100% from sheep milk and it matures for at least 9 months.

LADOTYRI MYTILINIS PDO IN OLIVE OIL PIECE 230gr

Ladotyri Mytilinis is a unique protected designation of origin cheese produced only in the island of Lesvos. It took its name from the big clay vessels in which it matured. So today according to tradition it stays in olive oil in various useful packaging that help it maintain its piquant flavor, as Lesvos dairy has managed to revive the old tradition.

LADOTYRI MYTILINIS PDO  1,2kg

Ladotyri Mytilinis is a semihard cheese from sheep and goat’s milk (sheep milk is more than 85%) produced in the island of Lesvos. It has the shape of a small head and it matures for at least 3 months. It has a distinguished rich and pleasant aroma and a slightly salty intense flavor. It makes an ideal saganaki.

Kasseri is a semihard cheese of cohesive texture. It is produced from sheep (mostly) and goat’s milk and it stands out for its rich aroma and special taste. It matures for at least 3 months and Lesvos island is one of the three areas of Greece that its production is allowed.
